Oasis fans decode cryptic chip shop teaser hinting at tour news

Oasis fans have been sent into a frenzy over a new teaser on the band’s official Instagram page, with many predicting a tour announcement is finally on the way. The brief video shows two youngsters in a chip shop, with the track Little by Little playing in the background, prompting followers to scour every pixel for clues.

Clues decoded by eagle-eyed fans

One detail that caught attention was a notice on a fridge instructing to ‘keep the fridge at -4’, leading some to question whether this could mean an announcement would arrive in four days. Another fan pointed out that the price of the family chippy bundle at £55.84 corresponded to the latitude and longitude of Celtic Park, at -4 and 55.84 respectively.

“Longitude and Latitude of Celtic Park. 55 and -4. Scottish Chippy aswell,” an Instagram user discovered. Others noted that Little by Little was released on September 23rd, and the new clip is 23 seconds long, further fueling speculation. One follower wrote: “Not me pausing and zooming in as far as possible to try and crack whatever hidden clues may be existing in this video.”

Reunion history and future plans

The Oasis reunion tour was announced in August 2024, 15 years after their dramatic split in 2009, which was prompted by a brawl between Noel and Liam backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in France. They reunited for dates across the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Asia last summer, ending the tour in São Paulo in November.

Ever since, fans have been crying out for more, and while nothing concrete has been announced, Noel appeared to confirm they would be on the road again next year. Calling into TalkSport to discuss Manchester City earlier this week, he laughed at the speculation and said: “Oh well, then there must be something happening. There must be something happening.”

Potential dates and documentary premiere

The Mirror understands that a number of dates will be announced for Oasis to play Manchester City’s Etihad stadium in June 2027 before returning to Knebworth, the scene of their biggest ever gigs, later in the year and likely in September. Sources also suggested that dates and ticket details will be announced later this month, but tour bosses are waiting until after the premiere of the Oasis documentary Don’t Look Back In Anger, which screens at Venice Film Festival on September 5 before a London premiere next Monday.
