An Oasis fan has described the scramble for tickets as a “Hunger Games” after just one of 10 friends managed to secure tickets for the band’s Live ’27 tour.
Tom Leech and nine friends were all hoping to receive a ticket-sale code, but only his best friend Mick, who lives in Australia, was successful. Mick then used his code to secure four tickets for Oasis’ Knebworth show on September 18.
One code, four tickets
Tom said Mick deliberately kept quiet after getting through, having seen how stressful the ticket process was during Oasis’ 2025 reunion tour.
Tom told The Standard: “He purposely stayed quiet when he got through. He didn't tell us until he sent a screenshot saying, ‘You're in, Oasis 2027 Knebworth,’ because he didn't want us to get our hopes up.
“What happened last year was loads of us got through and then we'd get through to the final stage or go through to payment and it would just cancel, or laptops would crash, or the website would crash or whatever.”
The screenshot was eventually dropped into the group chat, sending the friends into celebration mode. But there was one problem: there were only four tickets.
Tom explained: “Everyone's obviously celebrating but you can only get four tickets per code, I think it is. So currently it's the Hunger Games between our friendship group to work out who's going to have them.”
Still waiting for more codes
Tom said the group is still refreshing their inboxes in the hope that more codes will arrive, as they attempt to get enough tickets for everyone.
He said: “We want to go to at least one of the Knebworths. We want to go to at least one of the Manchester ones and then maybe one abroad as well. But Knebworth is obviously a good start.”
“He [Mick] said when he got through it wasn't too stressful. It was relatively quick. The most stressful thing so far has been waiting for codes.”
Hoping to see Oasis together
The friends have plenty of experience with Oasis ticket chaos. Tom managed to get tickets for the 2025 reunion tour after logging on at 9am and waiting until the afternoon to get through, eventually securing tickets to the opening night in Cardiff as well as two shows in Manchester.
This time, however, Tom is hoping the group can finally experience Oasis together. He said the friends had grown up listening to the band and had been going to gigs together for more than 20 years, but Oasis had remained the one band they had never all managed to see together.
Tom added: “Most of us got to go. There's still a couple of us that didn't get to go, but there hasn't been one where every single one of the friendship group went at the same time.
“We're desperately trying to make sure that we get ideally one of the Knebworth ones where all of us can go.”
The group have also watched the Oasis reunion film, which Tom said has only made them more determined to get back to see the band.
He said: “I've been to maybe four figures' worth of gigs and the Oasis ones last year are so far above anything else that's in second place to how good it was.
“My favourite one from last year was Little By Little, which I wasn't expecting, so obviously excited to see that again.
“But then when they walk out to Hello, there's something when they open with ‘It's good to be back’. It's just absolutely... it's an unrivalled feeling.”
And if the group manage to secure enough tickets for everyone, there is already a celebration plan in place.
“We're going to go to our local pub, The Thatched, and probably get far too carried away given that it's a year away,” Tom said.
