Nintendo is set to host a new Indie World showcase, spotlighting a fresh batch of indie games for its consoles. The presentation follows the recent Partner Showcase, which featured titles such as Katamari and Persona but left some players feeling underwhelmed.
The Indie World showcase will take place on Thursday, August 7, starting at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST. It is scheduled to run for 15 minutes and will be streamed live on the Nintendo of America YouTube channel.
While specific games have not been confirmed, the event is expected to unveil new Nintendo Switch 2 titles for 2025 from smaller teams and solo developers. There are hopes for updates on existing indie games, though nothing has been announced in advance.
Fans are also hoping for surprises similar to the Friends of Jimbo pack for Balatro, which was revealed during the last Indie World in 2024. However, the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong is unlikely to appear, according to reports.
The showcase aims to round out Nintendo's year with a variety of indie offerings, despite the mixed reaction to the previous Partner Showcase. Viewers can tune in to the official YouTube channel at the scheduled time for all the announcements.
