Next God Of War Game May Feature Faye Not Kratos

Rumours suggest the next God Of War game will be a spin-off featuring Faye, wife of Kratos, rather than the iconic protagonist himself. The game is reportedly being overseen by Ragnarök co-director Cory Barlog and may include a mix of mythologies, including British, Mayan, Chinese, and Japanese elements.

According to sources collated by MP1st, players will wield a talking sword that is actually Merlin from Arthurian legend. The game may also feature a gelatinous cube as a companion, reminiscent of Dungeons & Dragons. Kratos and Týr, the Norse god of war, are said to appear in some capacity.

The action has been compared to the fast-paced style of Devil May Cry, a departure from previous God Of War titles. Despite the inclusion of multiple mythologies, there is no mention of Egyptian mythology, which fans had long anticipated.

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson suggests the game could be announced this month, possibly during a State of Play. However, a more likely reveal window is Sony’s traditional not-E3 showcase in late May or early June. The announcement may be minimal, similar to Ragnarök’s initial logo and release year reveal.
