Marks & Spencer has launched a limited-edition Chocolate, Strawberry & Pistachio Creme Sandwich, inspired by the viral TikTok "Dubai chocolate" trend. Priced at £3.50 for a single half-sandwich pack, the product features cocoa-enriched sweetened brioche-style bread filled with Fairtrade dark chocolate sauce, roasted pistachio nut crème mixed with mascarpone cheese, and fresh British Red Diamond strawberries.
Influencer Review: Three-Word Verdict
Food influencer Carmie Sellitto, who has 704,000 Instagram followers, reviewed the sandwich and gave a three-word first impression: "It's very dry." He noted he "didn't get much of the sauce" and found the chocolate "a lot more overpowering than the pistachio." Sellitto rated the sandwich 5/10 and said he "probably wouldn't buy it again."
Mixed Reactions from Shoppers
Comments on Sellitto's review were divided. One shopper wrote, "Makes me want to go directly to M&S. Their Big Daddy pistachio chocolate is gorgeous." Another criticized, "Ewww no, a sandwich is a sandwich - that’s a cake slice." However, other testers have claimed the mix of dark chocolate sauce, mascarpone cheese, and British strawberries tastes "amazing" together, and several were surprised it isn't overly sickly or sweet, finding the flavour ratios well-balanced.
Limited Availability and High Demand
The sandwich is a limited-edition summer release and has been selling out quickly in many local Foodhalls due to high demand. It is a dessert-style spin-off of M&S's previously successful Japanese-style "fruit sando." The classic strawberries-and-cream version, priced at £2.80, has also returned alongside it.
