Missouri Casino Revenue Jumps 9% Ahead of Sports Betting Launch
Missouri casino revenue up 9% before sports betting

Missouri's casino industry is demonstrating robust health, posting a significant revenue increase just weeks before the highly anticipated launch of sports betting across the state.

Substantial Revenue Growth Reported

The Missouri Gaming Commission has confirmed a striking nine per cent year-on-year increase in total casino revenue for October 2025. The combined takings from retail, riverboat, and online operators reached an impressive $164.9 million.

While traditional brick-and-mortar and riverboat locations experienced a slight three per cent dip, they still generated a substantial $21.4 million. This minor decline was more than offset by a powerful surge in electronic gaming, which saw an 11 per cent increase, contributing $143.5 million to the overall figure.

Widespread Gains and Key Partnerships

The positive trend was widespread, with 11 of the state's 13 riverboat casinos reporting year-on-year gains. The standout performer was the Century Casino & Hotel in Caruthersville, which witnessed an extraordinary 61 per cent increase in revenue.

This financial upswing arrives as Missouri prepares for a major industry expansion. Sports betting is scheduled to launch on 1 December 2025, with pre-registration for online sportsbooks already underway. Major casino operators are strategically positioning themselves for this new market.

Several of Missouri's highest-grossing establishments, including Ameristar St. Charles, River City Casino, Hollywood Casino, and Ameristar Kansas City, have already formed alliances with prominent sports betting partners like ESPN BET and Fanatics. These partnerships will enable them to offer retail sports betting alongside their traditional table games and electronic offerings.

Future Outlook and Expansion

Early market predictions are optimistic, estimating that sports betting could generate over $3 billion in Missouri during its first year. The integration of sportsbooks is widely seen as a strategy to drive footfall and boost revenue at physical casino locations.

Further signalling confidence in the sector's growth, the state has approved two new major casino projects on Lake Ozark. This development, coupled with the incoming sports betting market, paints a picture of a dynamic and expanding gaming landscape in the Show Me State.
