Millie Bobby Brown has expressed her excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6, calling the series her favorite video game of all time, but insists she plays the game in an unusually law-abiding manner. During a Q&A session on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, the 22-year-old actress revealed that despite the game's criminal themes, she avoids breaking rules, even stopping at red lights.
Brown's Unconventional Playstyle
Brown, best known for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, explained that she role-plays as a vigilante rather than a hitman. 'I stop at the red lights, I never run anyone over… I'm like, 'I'm gonna go to the strip club but I'm not going to get drunk.' I'm very, very good,' she said. Her husband, Jake Bongiovi, has teased her about this habit, questioning why she plays GTA like it's The Sims.
Brown was previously made a Sims ambassador in 2018 and was added to The Sims 4 as a downloadable character. Her Stranger Things character, Eleven, has also appeared in Fortnite and Dead By Daylight, though in the latter she is voiced by Abby Espiritu rather than Brown.
Celebrity Excitement for GTA 6
Brown joins a growing list of celebrities eagerly awaiting GTA 6. Last year, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton said he would cancel work plans once the game launches. GTA 6 is expected to sell exceptionally well, with reported pre-order figures already strong despite controversy over the lack of a physical release.
Brown did not specify her favorite entry in the series, but given her age, she likely started with GTA 5. The GTA series has a history of celebrity cameos, including appearances by Cara Delevingne, Kenny Loggins, and Dr Dre in GTA 5 and its online mode. With Brown's love for the series now public, speculation arises that Rockstar Games might secure her for a cameo in GTA Online or GTA 6's online mode.
Impact and Reaction
Brown's comments have sparked amusement among fans, highlighting her unique approach to a game known for its open-world criminality. Her admission that she plays as a vigilante and follows traffic laws contrasts sharply with typical player behavior. The podcast host seemed surprised by her choice of favorite game, given her rule-abiding playstyle.
As GTA 6's release approaches, celebrity endorsements like Brown's and Hamilton's could boost its already massive popularity. Whether Rockstar will approach Brown for a role remains to be seen, but her enthusiasm for the series is clear.
