Bungie has released Marathon update 1.1.5.1 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The new update is required to download and install before playing online. It follows a period of server downtime that took the game offline between 4pm BST and 6pm BST in the UK.
Solo Queue for Vault Breaker
Update 1.1.5.1 adds a solo-only queue option for Vault Breaker. The difficulty is adjusted to account for the reduced crew size. Players who select the 'Solo' option before matchmaking will find this experimental mode less punishing than Week 1. The update also increases critical damage against UESC combatants and reduces UESC aggression and accuracy. Solo players who prefer more challenge should continue to select Trios with Crew Fill off.
Item Economy and Fixes
The new update fixes an issue where VIP reward packages were unable to be claimed. Players should now be able to claim all available packages, including those earned since the issue began following Update 1.1.5. Another fix addresses players who purchased sponsored kits from C.A.R.R.I. with a full Vault, which could result in a run with an incorrect loadout.
User Interface and Stability Improvements
Several UI issues are resolved: players no longer get stuck in their Loadout Report screen if they claim something from their Rewards Pass before exiting, and they must fully exit their Run Report before navigating to Rewards Pass. An extra “Match: Found” message display is fixed. Stability fixes include a login issue affecting some console players and crashes related to contract progression steps and interactions.
General and Double XP Weekend
A fix ensures the Spacebucks Codex challenge can be claimed after completion. Players in this state should have the issue resolved after their next run. The update lays the groundwork for a double XP weekend, running from July 31 to August 3, increasing progress for both season level and all faction reputations.
