Madison Beer, the fiancée of Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, has announced she is joining Fortnite as a playable character. The American singer shared the news with her 39.4 million Instagram followers, revealing that she is part of the game's Icon Series, which has previously featured Lewis Hamilton, Neymar, LeBron James, Harry Kane and Patrick Mahomes.
Singer unveils in-game outfits
In her post, the 27-year-old posed in the design of the new outfit her character's skin will wear in-game. She also shared a video announcing her arrival, showing her putting down an Xbox controller and putting on a figure-hugging navy blue t-shirt, tiny white shorts, grey knee-high socks and fingerless gloves. A microphone was included in her pocket and a blue pickaxe topped off the costume as she walked from her make-up room down a dimly lit corridor, transitioning into her in-game animated character.
Beer also posted an alternative in-game outfit, featuring a pink leotard and feathered wings, which is a nod to her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show outfit. She captioned the post: “See u in the item shop.”
Fans react to announcement
The post currently sits at 1.6 million likes, and fans quickly filled the comments section. One wrote: “Suddenly I’m gonna start playing Fortnite.” Another added: “Okay, this has to be one of your 2026 Halloween costumes.” A third commented: “Oh this is iconic.” Another lauded: “I’VE SAVED UP MY V-BUCKS FOR A REASON!!! Some fans of Herbert's Chargers were more concerned about the quarterback's focus. One said: “Tell your husband to focus, we need a Super Bowl. Besides, I got him on my fantasy team.” Another echoed: “Tell your husband to lock in. The Chargers suffered their third defeat of the season against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. A fourth-quarter turnaround from the unbeaten Bills condemned the Chargers to a 0-3 record in the 24-16 scoreline.
