Elicia Bailey, the dumped Love Island bombshell, has hit back after fellow contestant Priya called her 'bitter' and 'jealous' during Wednesday's episode.
Elicia entered the ITV dating show as a later bombshell and grew close to Finley Maddock and Aidan Murphy, but neither romance materialised and she was eliminated. On Love Island Aftersun, she was asked who might be the biggest game player and pointed to Priya.
During The Grafties ceremony on Wednesday (July 22), the remaining couples were shown this clip along with other remarks from the companion podcast Love Island The Debrief. Priya won the 'Keep My Name Out Of Your Mouth' award, but was not pleased with Elicia's comments.
Priya's angry response
Reacting to Elicia's remarks, Priya fumed: "It's really sad to see someone so bitter and she can keep that sour taste in her mouth. Jealousy is a disease, get well soon." She added: "I don't care what Julia says I don't care what Elicia says I don't care it's cringey, go back to the National Rail Elicia! You work on the National Rail why are you f***king sitting on Aftersun?"
Fellow Islander Kavan quickly responded: "Nothing wrong with working on National Rail." Aidan later suggested some of Elicia's remarks had crossed a line and needed retracting.
Elicia's reaction on The Debrief
Elicia was a guest on Love Island The Debrief immediately after the episode. Reacting to Priya's comments, she said: "Obviously when I first walked in, you know, she was lovely. Everyone gets on, there was no bad blood. Until obviously all the Aidan stuff started happening and then she just went quite cold with me."
She added: "So the comments that she said tonight, she said that I attacked her character but I was asked a question on Aftersun, which you know, I didn't call them like begging them to get me on, like everyone goes on Aftersun, they have to. You know, I was asked the question. It wasn't an attack on anyone's personality, anyone's character, nothing. But the comments she made was a personal attack on where I work, that's crazy."
No bad blood?
When asked about a possible feud, Elicia confessed: "I never had anything against her. I was put in as a bombshell, I was asked my opinion and I gave my opinion, which by the way everyone is entitled to. But from my side there wasn't ever any bad blood."
Pressed on whether there is bad blood now, Elicia responded: "We'll see when she gets out of the villa, I don't know." She added: "I don't know if I'm bothered. I'm not a very angry person."
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX followed by The Debrief.
