Liam Gallagher has dismissed reports that Oasis will headline Glastonbury next year. The band are expected to announce dates at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium and Knebworth after their 41-date reunion tour in 2025.
Reports have suggested that the band are among the bookies' favourites to headline the festival when it returns after a year off. Responding to fan page Oasis Mania, which shared the claim on X, Gallagher was withering about the event and its famously bohemian crowd.
Gallagher's response
"It's not HAPPENING so all you croc wearing flag waving s**t c****s can calm the f**k down," he said. He later responded to a fan asking what he dreamt about last night, saying: "I had a dream we was playing at Glastonbury and the croc brigade stormed the stage and started whipping me to death with their flags took me ages to get settled NIGHTMARE."
Oasis have played at Glastonbury three times in their career. They played on the NME stage in 1994 just as they were making their breakthrough, then headlined the Pyramid Stage in 1995 and again in 2004. Liam also played with Beady Eye in 2013 and as a solo artist in 2017 and 2019, while Noel played with his band the High Flying Birds in 2022.
Planned gigs
The Manchester Evening News reported last month that Oasis are eyeing a mammoth residency at Manchester's Etihad Stadium in June 2027 as part of a wider tour set to be announced. A record-breaking run of nights is being planned, with a potential 10 to 12 nights in the first announcement, which could be extended depending on demand.
This would see them take the record from fellow Manc band Take That for the most gigs staged at the Etihad Stadium. The band are also aiming to break the previous attendance record at Knebworth, with further gigs planned there.
It was confirmed earlier this month that Oasis' tour promoters, Manchester's SJM, have secured the permissions to host gigs at Knebworth House park in Hertfordshire indefinitely. Fans are now waiting for an announcement from the band themselves.
