Released in May 2026, Legends is a crime thriller TV series written and directed by Neil Forsyth. It centres on British customs investigators who infiltrated the criminal drug world with minimal support and funding from the police force.
In the early 1990s, Her Majesty's Customs and Excise was losing its battle with drug smuggling along British borders, and a top-secret operation was born. A small team of customs employees were given entirely new identities and tasked with infiltrating the most dangerous of drug gangs.
All-star cast and fan reaction
The cast features Tom Burke, Steve Coogan, Hayley Squires, and Aml Ameen. One viewer wrote on Rotten Tomatoes: "This is actually exceptionally good and feels very different. Many of us know the British crime drime dramas, especially crime dramas on Netflix, look exactly the same."
Another review reads: "The characters were fantastic, and watching them individually find their own character was interesting. Everything from the music, the style of dress and the overall attitude brought me back to the late 80s and early 90s."

Second series confirmed
In August 2026, the series was renewed for a second season. A premiere date has not been announced yet, while filming is scheduled to start in 2027.
