Last One Laughing fans: Ayoade's return 'almost unfair'

Richard Ayoade's return to Last One Laughing season 3 has sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some saying his poker face makes the competition 'almost unfair' for other comedians.

Ayoade, who came second in the inaugural season, will star alongside Katherine Parkinson, Lee Mack and Harry Hill in the Amazon Prime Video series. His participation was announced as part of the season 3 line-up.

Fan reactions to Ayoade's return

On Reddit, user malin7 said: 'Very glad to see Richard back, probably my favourite contestant out of both seasons.'

However, not everyone is as positive. User Younevershouldnt claimed Ayoade is the 'Usain Bolt of poker faces', saying: 'I dunno, he's so good at this, it's almost unfair on the others.'

In response, user MonkeysOOOTBottle even questioned Bob Mortimer's 2025 win, suggesting Richard gave it to him when he could have stuck it out and taken the trophy.

Season 3 cast and changes

The full season 3 cast includes Lee Mack, Katherine Ryan, Harry Hill, Katherine Parkinson, Michelle de Swarte, Jon Richardson, Morgana Robinson, Josh Jones, Richard Ayoade and Roisin Conaty.

Mel Giedroyc, who got very close to the end with David Mitchell in the last competition, will be back on the series – but this time in the control room with host Jimmy Carr. Roisin Conaty is leaving her spot on the sofa and entering the competition.

Also competing are stand-ups Michelle de Swarte, who wrote and starred in the BBC series Spent, and Josh Jones, a Dancing on Ice alum who describes himself as an 'aspiring house husband from Manchester' on Instagram.

Last One Laughing will return to Prime Video in 2027.
