ITVX viewers are "hooked" after watching the dark horror series Yellowjackets, which is available to stream for free on the platform. The American thriller drama follows two primary storylines and has drawn praise from fans online.
What is Yellowjackets about?
The series was inspired by the Andes flight disaster and the Donner Party. It follows a group of teenagers travelling from New Jersey to Seattle for a national football tournament. When their plane crashes in 1996, the team members are forced to escape the Canadian wilderness, stranded for 19 months.
The storyline chronicles their attempts to stay alive, with some team members driven to cannibalism. A second storyline focuses on the survivors' lives 25 years later, in 2021, as the events of that time resurface.

They wrote: "I enjoyed Yellowjackets quite a bit, but for reasons different than most people on this forum. To me it was a fun trope filled show of characters we've seen countless times – each character represents a HS clique or stereotype."

One commented: "I have watched the entire first season over 8 times now, so you can probably guess what my answer is going to be. I mean, you're on the subreddit for a show that hasn't released new episodes in quite a while, it's basically just diehards here, not really the audience for this. Just saying."
Another added: "I liked it for the same reasons, it's because the cast is fantastic together, individual performances elevate the entire thing to worthy of giving it a chance for Season 2. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show boasts a 92% score, while IMDb viewers rated it 7.7 out of 10. With 9-10 episodes available per season, the show is expecting to release its fourth and final season in November.
The pilot was greenlit in September 2019 and shot in Los Angeles in November. According to location manager Jimmie Lee, several scenes from the pilot were filmed on top of the ski slopes on Mammoth Mountain. Selected scenes and episodes are available to watch for free with ads on ITVX.
