Earlier today, we presented three Sudokus with a twist. The standard rule applies: all digits from 1 to 9 in each row, column, and 3x3 box. The extra rule: a cell that contains its position in its row, column, or 3x3 box (read left-to-right, top-to-bottom) is coloured gold. White cells must not display their position.
This constraint means there are no number clues in the starting grid, making for an elegant and entertaining solve. The puzzles are available again with solutions, and a PDF printout of all three can be found online.
One puzzle is a 6x6 grid, using numbers 1 to 6 and 2x3 boxes. Since 2015, puzzles have been set here on alternate Mondays, always on the lookout for great puzzles. Suggestions can be emailed.
