Rockstar Games appears to have big plans for August, as anticipation builds for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 3. The next trailer was previously expected to coincide with pre-orders earlier this summer, but that did not happen. Fresh leaks, however, indicate that the wait may soon be over.
A couple of reliable leakers have suggested GTA 6 Trailer 3 will be released in August, with one insider hinting at an update in the coming days. In a Q&A with followers on X, insider NateTheHate2 said he expected to see a "fair bit of GTA 6" in August.
Website Activity Points To Imminent Announcement
Content creator iGrandTheftAuto has also noticed multiple backend updates to the GTA 6 website. "Might be nothing... But my Rockstar monitor has just detected a change to the GTA 6 website," iGrandTheftAuto said. "This is the first one I've noticed since this time last month. It's possible it's just a regular code deployment they do at the end of each month, but it's worth keeping an eye on."
"I can't see any notable differences other than some CSS and JS updates, but nothing visual from what I can tell. There's now been 3 minor updates to the website today. It certainly looks like something might be happening soon. If not later today, keep a close eye on Rockstar and the GTA 6 site tomorrow. No guarantees, but this is definitely unusual!"
Interestingly, the last time something similar happened, Rockstar Games dropped the cover art and pre-order announcement. "It's hard to say. Last time I detected a change out of the blue, the cover art and pre-order announcement dropped the next day. Doesn't mean that'll happen this time, but they're definitely working on something," iGrandTheftAuto added.
GTA 6 Setting And Editions
Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, which is based on Florida. Locations include the iconic Vice City, as well as Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
Two versions of GTA 6 will be available when the game launches on November 19: the Standard Edition with the core game, and the Ultimate Edition featuring the core game plus a range of bonus items. Anyone who pre-orders either version will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
