GTA 6 Fan Spots Hidden Tommy Vercetti Easter Egg in Year-Old Trailer
GTA 6 Fan Spots Hidden Tommy Vercetti Easter Egg in Trailer

Over a year after the release of GTA 6 Trailer 2, an eagle-eyed fan has discovered a subtle nod to a classic character from the series' past. The easter egg, which appears as a graffiti drawing of a gecko wearing a teal-blue floral shirt, is believed to reference Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Discovery by GameVerse

The find was first shared by GameVerse on X (formerly Twitter) on June 21, 2026. In a post, they wrote: "Call me crazy, but this is the first Tommy Vercetti Easter egg I found in GTA 6 Trailer 2." The accompanying clip shows protagonist Jason hitting an NPC, but zooming into the background reveals the gecko graffiti with a shirt design strikingly similar to Vercetti's iconic outfit.

While the video quality is grainy, the resemblance has excited fans who have been scrutinizing every frame of the trailer since its release. GTA Vice City was the last game set in the state of Leonida, the same fictional location as GTA 6. It remains unclear if Vercetti himself will appear in the new game, but Rockstar Games is known for including such nostalgic references.
