Gary Neville launches Overlap Daily with Premier League legends

Gary Neville has expanded his business empire by launching a new daily football show, The Overlap Daily, which will broadcast every weekday at 4pm on YouTube. The former Manchester United defender has recruited several former Premier League rivals to join him.

The opening show, launching Friday, October 9, will feature Neville alongside Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher and YouTube personality Mark Goldbridge.

Star-studded line-up

Neville has also enlisted Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard, ex-Man City star Joe Hart, former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp, and ex-Man Utd winger Ashley Young.

Other contributors include Spurs legend Tim Sherwood, Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates, Everton hero Duncan Ferguson, former Wales goalkeeper Mark Crossley, TV presenter Becky Ives, and United icon Peter Schmeichel.

Gerrard, who has returned to punditry with TNT Sports this season, will make his regular presenting debut alongside Ives on the Monday slot.

Daily football coverage

Overlap Daily aims to deliver supporters a daily round-up of the latest football stories and discussion, with regular contributors offering exclusive analysis alongside the hosts' views and forecasts. It will also feature questions from supporters and a phone-in element.

After Monday's programme with Gerrard and Ives, Tuesday's edition will showcase Cates, Young, and Hart. Wednesday's instalment will see former Spurs pair Redknapp and Sherwood take charge.

Thursday's programme will see Everton legend Ferguson and former Wales goalkeeper Crossley handle presenting duties, while Carragher, Neville, and Goldbridge will front the Friday edition.

Success of The Overlap

Overlap Daily follows the success of Neville's existing podcast, The Overlap, which has accumulated more than 38 million monthly views since launching in 2021. High-profile guests including David Beckham, Tyson Fury, and Rory McIlroy have appeared on the show, establishing it as one of Britain's most listened-to podcasts.

Neville, founder of The Overlap, said: "We have wanted to create a daily show for some time now. There was a moment in the last year where a manager was sacked and we didn't have a programme for seven days - at that point we recognised that we needed to go for it.

"The quality and profile of our incredible host line-up speaks to our commitment to deliver the best insights and debate on the biggest football stories, and we'll now be doing this daily."

Simon Pitts, Group CEO of Global and Co-Chair of The Overlap, added: "The Overlap has created one of the most powerful football brands in the game by putting brilliant talent and genuine fan conversation at the heart of everything it does.

"Overlap Daily takes that ambition to the next level, creating a place for the stories and debates that matter, every day, with an incredible line-up of the best football voices in the business."
