Fortnite players will soon be able to purchase the exact number of V-Bucks needed for in-game transactions, according to leaks from industry insiders. The overhaul aims to eliminate the frustration of being forced to buy larger bundles than necessary.
The new feature will allow gamers to top up their V-Bucks wallet with the precise amount required for any cosmetic item. Insiders @iFireMonkey and @ShiinaBR have shared screenshots showing an option to buy the 'exact amount' alongside standard bundles.
The update is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, October 14. Ahead of that, on Friday, October 10, wallet totals ending in '50' will be rounded up to multiples of 100 to simplify the system.
However, PlayStation users will be unable to use the feature at launch. @ShiinaBR stated that Sony is not permitting the system initially, though Epic Games is working to include all platforms in the future.
This move is seen as another step by Epic Games to streamline spending, though it remains unclear if buying exact amounts will offer any cost savings over standard bundles.
