A new arrival in Emmerdale is set to bring accusations that could blow village life wide open, with their words and actions having devastating consequences.
Fans have already witnessed the shock deaths of Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) and much-loved Jimmy King (Nick Miles) earlier this week. Today’s episode of the ITV soap also saw Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) die after giving birth to her baby. It has been a horrific week for residents, and this new arrival is here to make things worse.
Accusations Around Todd’s Death
Questions are being asked about whether the newcomer is here with accusations around Todd’s death. Producer Sophie Roper has promised that justice will find its way back to Sarah.
‘We will absolutely, through the course of this story, see the consequences of what Sarah has done,’ she said when asked if we’d see Sarah face justice. ‘…It’s complicated of course…There will be unexpected developments in this story that hopefully keep it engaging and exciting as we go through.’
Could Todd’s ex-wife be making an appearance to avenge her death, even though their relationship sounded rocky? It seems there are very few other people who would care about Todd.
Or perhaps her other victim Helen could be coming back – she didn’t want to be involved in getting justice for Todd, but she knew how desperate Charity was to get it. Could she become a character witness against Charity?
Possible Links to Jimmy King
Perhaps the mystery newcomer has nothing to do with Todd and everything to do with Jimmy. It is already known that Patsy Kensit is back as Sadie King and filming scenes. As Jimmy’s ex-wife, could she have secrets to share in the wake of his death?
The actress has already confessed to Sadie having some run-ins with Charity (Emma Atkins) and Cain (Jeff Hordley), but she said Sadie has an ‘agenda’ and a ‘shocking secret’. Perhaps the necklace that Jimmy bought really was for someone else, as Nicola suspected.
Producer Laura Shaw teased that Sadie’s returning secret is ‘one of the biggest secrets we’ve ever had within the King family’. Was Jimmy in so much debt because he was funding a secret family? There seems to be lots to come, and it has been promised this will have a ripple effect for months down the line.
