Early Access Games Set to Hit 1.0 in 2026

2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for gaming, with several early access titles scheduled to reach their full 1.0 release. Among the most anticipated are Valheim, Path of Exile 2, Enshrouded, and Palworld, each offering distinct gameplay experiences that have been refined through player feedback during their early access periods.

Valheim, a Viking-themed survival game often compared to a Nordic Minecraft, has been in early access since February 2021. It features procedurally generated worlds, cooperative play for up to ten players, and a focus on building settlements and hunting powerful bosses. The developer has confirmed a 1.0 target for 2026, though no exact date has been announced.

Path of Exile 2, which entered early access in December 2024, is a deep action role-playing game (ARPG) with a six-act campaign, multiple classes and subclasses, and extensive buildcrafting options. It aims for a full launch towards the end of 2026, with console releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S planned.

Enshrouded, a survival game emphasising exploration and puzzle-solving, launched in early access in early 2024. Its hand-crafted world features intricate questlines, fast travel, and cooperative boss battles. The 1.0 release is scheduled for spring 2026.

Palworld, often described as 'Pokémon with guns', combines resource gathering, base building, and creature capture with real-time combat. Players can train and breed 'Pals' to automate production. Developer Pocketpair has stated a 2026 target for the full release.
