EA Sports has deployed a new patch for its flagship football game, including fixes for its unofficial World Cup 2026 mode, The World's Game.
EA Sports FC 26 Update 1.6.2 Patch Notes
EA Sports has issued a timely update for EA FC 26, making some tweaks to the title as FIFA World Cup fever grips its playerbase. The new title update 1.6.2 went live yesterday (Tuesday, June 16) and offers fixes for bugs in some of EA FC 26's most popular modes, including The World's Game - its unofficial take on the FIFA World Cup 2026. There are also a couple of useful new features for players attempting to lead their nation to glory.
With the World Cup now well underway, EA Sports have made some nice tweaks to The World's Game, including a new tournament tree widget to the office hub within the mode. This triggers as soon as players advance from the Group Stage, giving them an easy and useful look at how the Knockout Rounds are forming.
Players can also open the FC Hub mid-tournament to track active objectives and check progress while in the midst of plotting a route to the Final. On top of this, there are some fixes for international management in Career Mode - most notably re-enabling National Team selection for Manager Careers, using the May 2026 live start points.
On top of that, there are various user interface tweaks and some frustrating bugs have been squashed. Check out the full patch notes below.
