EA Sports has officially unveiled EA FC 27 with the game's first trailer later today (Thursday, July 23). The cover features Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappe on both the Standard and Ultimate Edition covers. For FC 27, a new addition is the Ultimate Plus Edition, offering more perks for players willing to pay. The cover for this version includes England star Jude Bellingham.
EA FC 27 pre-order dates and prices
Pre-orders have opened today, following the same path as its predecessors. Pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition ensures a week of early access before the official release date. EA FC 27 has been confirmed to drop on Friday, September 25. Seven days of early access is included only for Ultimate Edition or Ultimate Edition Plus customers and EA Play subscribers, meaning the earliest players can get the game will be Friday, September 18.
EA Sports has introduced a third version for FC 27: the Ultimate Edition Plus. Standard pre-orders cost £139.99 on consoles, reduced to £125.99 with an EA Play subscription. For PC gamers, the Ultimate Plus Edition is £10 cheaper on Steam at £129.99. The Standard and Ultimate Editions have stayed at the same prices as last year: £69.99 and £99.99 on consoles without EA Play, and £59.99 and £89.99 on PC.
EA FC 27 Ultimate Edition and Ultimate+ rewards and content
Pre-ordering the Standard Edition includes pre-order challenges, a season boost for Career Mode, three playable Icons or Heroes, a five-star coach and five-star youth scout for Career Mode. It also guarantees an Icon player item rated 92 overall or above for FUT in EA FC 26, plus three bonuses for the new open world mode, The Grounds: two Archetype XP multipliers for 10 matches, a Tier 3 AMP inspired by Mbappe, and The Ground Signature Sweatsuit.
The Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Edition Plus include all Standard Edition perks plus seven days early access, a premium pass for one FC Season, three batches of 2,000 FC Points, an additional FUT Evolution slot, a 99 Dribbling stat evolution for FUT in EA FC 26, a 93+ OVR Icon 1 from 4 player pick, and a five-star senior scout for Career Mode. The early bird pre-order of the Ultimate Edition also includes an 85+ International Icon pack.
The Ultimate Plus edition, reportedly only available as an early bird pre-order, includes five Premium Season Passes, five batches of 2,000 FC Points, a special 1 of 5 Direct Hall of FUT Player Pick, and a 99 Physical stat Evolution for EA FC 26. The Ultimate Edition Plus is only available until August 31 and not on Nintendo platforms or the Epic Games Store.
What's next for EA FC 27?
During today's announcement, a host of new features were confirmed, including The Grounds, gameplay tweaks to AI defending, offside avoidance and a curved underlap. EA Sports also announced EA FC 27 Lite, a free-to-download preview version available at launch on all platforms except Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, launching at 4pm on September 25. The roadmap includes deeper dives into gameplay and Career Mode this month, with further news on Ultimate Team, The Grounds and Clubs in August.
