EA Sports has confirmed that the Destined for Glory promo will launch in EA FC 27 Ultimate Team on Friday, September 25, the same day as the game's global release. The campaign, which is new to the series, is expected to go live at 6pm BST (10am PDT / 1pm EDT) if it follows established release times.

EA Sports has confirmed the first five players included in Destined for Glory Team 1, featuring two major Premier League summer transfers. The confirmed players and their official overall ratings are:
- CM: Mateus Fernandes (Tottenham) - 85 OVR
- CAM: Morgan Rogers (Chelsea) - 87 OVR
- RM: Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United) - 86 OVR
- ST: Alexander Isak (Liverpool) - 88 OVR
- ST: Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) - 91 OVR
Prominent FUT leakers, including FUT Sheriff on X, have hinted at additional inclusions. According to leakers, the following players are also expected to be part of the promo:

Other reports indicate that Renato Veiga (Villarreal), Davide Frattesi (Lazio) and Antonio Nusa (RB Leipzig) will be included as either Objective or Squad Building Challenge rewards.
How Destined for Glory upgrades work
According to EA Sports, upgrades for Destined for Glory cards depend partly on position, with real-world performances dictating boosts during the 2026/2027 campaign. Domestic league stats from fixtures beginning Friday, September 18 will count towards upgrades, with the team split into two groups.
For midfielders and attackers, upgrades depend on combined goals and assists in the domestic league season. For defenders and defensive midfielders, it's total clean sheets.
Upgrade paths are as follows:
Midfielders and Attackers (CM, CAM, LM, LW, RM, RW, ST):
- 3 combined goals and assists: +1 to Shooting and Passing stats
- 6 combined goals and assists: +1 regular PlayStyle
- 10 combined goals and assists: +1 OVR upgrade
- 20 combined goals and assists: +1 OVR upgrade
Defenders and Defensive Midfielders (CB, LB, RB, CDM):
- 2 total clean sheets: +1 to Defending and Physical stats
- 4 total clean sheets: +1 regular PlayStyle
- 6 total clean sheets: +1 OVR upgrade
- 10 total clean sheets: +1 OVR upgrade
