The Festival of Football continues in EA Sports FC 26 as the FUT Phenoms promo returns to Ultimate Team for the first time since FIFA 23. EA Sports says the promo “shines a light on football’s next generation,” featuring new special player items for young players and World Cup debutants as the 2026 FIFA World Cup reaches its latter stages.
Release Date and Time
The FUT Phenoms event will replace the second week of Glory Hunters, which offered PlayStyle customisation to World Cup-themed player items. Phenoms will begin at 6pm BST on Friday, July 10 (1pm ET, 10am PT). At that point, Glory Hunters cards and related content will no longer be available. Instead, FUT Phenoms cards will enter packs, and the first associated objectives will start. Season 9 of the World Tour will also truly begin.
Leaks and Predictions
Prominent FUT insiders like @FUTPolice and @AsyFUTtrader on X have revealed some expected player items. Given the theme of younger players who have shone or aim to shine this summer, the pool is limited but includes familiar meta cards. EA Sports teased cards for Lamine Yamal, Désiré Doué, Endrick, and João Neves on the FUT menu. Leakers also claim the following players will be included with predicted overall ratings:
- CB: Luka Vuskovic (Croatia) - 96 OVR
- CDM: Elliot Anderson (England) - 95 OVR
- CAM: Gilberto Mora (Mexico) - 95 OVR
- RW: Rayan Cherki (France) - 96 OVR
- ST: Folarin Balogun (USA) - 96 OVR
Expected Content
With the 2026 World Cup reaching its end, extra content is expected. Although Season 9 is themed on the 2030 competition, Squad Building Challenges and Objectives related to this year's tournament will likely continue. More Showdown SBCs are expected as stakes rise, while FUT Phenom SBCs will arrive throughout the week. The FoF Token Store will refresh with special Phenoms red cards as FUT Champions rewards. Special player items for Warren Zaïre-Emery and Yoan Bonny are included in the new Season Pass, while leaked Phenom SBCs or Objectives include Kenan Yildiz and Antonio Nusa.
