Sarah Platt is left injured after a vicious prison beating in upcoming Coronation Street scenes. The character, played by Tina O'Brien, has been behind bars after being arrested for the murder of Theo Silverton, despite the audience knowing she acted in self-defence.

In next week's episodes, Sarah is unnerved when a tough-looking inmate gives her a menacing look. Later, during visiting hours, Bethany (Lucy Fallon) is horrified to see her mum's face badly bruised. The attacker's motive remains unclear – could it be connected to Theo, her relationship with a cop, or something else entirely?
Kit's plan
Meanwhile, Kit Green is determined to get Sarah out. He attempts to prove that Gary Windass convinced Sarah not to go to the police after Theo's death, which could lead to a reduced sentence or even freedom. However, the attack may complicate matters.
