Coronation Street fans are predicting the return of two soap legends to deal with troubled Lucy Parkinson, who arrived on the ITV soap earlier this year as the daughter of Tim Metcalfe's estranged cousin Richie.
After their reunion following years apart, Richie opened up to Tim about his marital difficulties with his wife Rachel, disclosing they were experiencing a turbulent period. The situation took a shocking turn when Tim visited Richie's home and discovered him wearing a blood-stained shirt with Rachel deceased on the floor. Richie was subsequently taken into custody for his wife's murder and imprisoned.
Lucy's troubled arrival
With her father behind bars, Lucy was set to move in with foster carers, but Tim convinced his wife Sally to allow them to take Lucy in, with the teenager now residing at No. 4. Nevertheless, Lucy is evidently disturbed, and Tim and Sally have struggled to handle her conduct. Earlier this week, the youngster lost her temper and hurled her phone at Sally.
In a significant revelation, it emerged that Lucy is actually the one who killed her mother, and her father is shouldering the blame for it. With further drama on the horizon, fans believe the soap could be bringing back two legendary characters to intervene with Lucy.
Fans call for Platt sisters
"Get Rosie back to sort out Lucy out. She is dodgy," said one person on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page. Someone else added: "Yessss, Rosie wouldn't stand for it." A third chimed in: "Get Sophie back too ha."
Meanwhile, the actress behind Lucy, Anya Dewin, has already received a warm welcome from her new colleagues. To mark her debut, actor Tony Maudsley, who plays Weatherfield's George Shuttleworth, shared a photo on Instagram featuring the pair alongside several of their castmates.

He captioned the post: "It's a HUGE day for our new girl on the cobbles @anyadewinx. Not only did she storm her A' Level results this morning.."
