Crews behind the Channel 4 thriller Army of Shadows are set to film at Liverpool Town Hall next week, taking over the city's civic headquarters for new scenes.
Show details and cast
The show, adapted by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy, MobLand, Day of the Jackal), is inspired by Joseph Kessel's book of the same name, a fictionalised account of the French resistance during WWII. However, the series is set in an authoritarian version of the UK in the near future.
The six-part series stars Paddy Considine, America Ferrera, Alex Hassell, and Kit Harington. Lisa Gunning will direct all six episodes.
Filming locations and background
Earlier this month, the production was spotted on Lark Lane, where armed officers emerged from a blacked-out van outside the Old Police Station. The Liverpool Film Office facilitated the set-up of props at the town hall for a week-long shoot.
The additional photography follows the sequel to 2022's The Batman returning to the Liverpool City Region for shooting. Crews operated in the Mersey Tunnels and over Runcorn Bridge last week for The Batman Part II, set for 2028 release.
It is not known at this stage if further scenes will be shot around Merseyside.
