Bruno Mars delivered a mesmerising performance at Wembley Stadium, showcasing his raw talent and stage presence without gimmicks.
A Showman Without Gimmicks
The Hawaiian superstar embodies the greatest showmen of the past 50 years, so no bells, whistles or even Harry Styles' running track was required to make fans go wild at Wembley stadium. Bruno was overflowing with stage presence and - bar the red Cadillac he drove on stage - a more traditional concert production allowed punters to focus on smoothies from latest LP, The Romantic alongside gold star 24K Magic belters.
Church-Like Start and Retro Vibes
The show began in church, Bruno praying he’d be able to give fans "a show they’ll never forget", no fear there - he was preaching to the converted all decked out in ‘Hot For Bruno’ shirts. The vibrant '70s soul set wasn't the only retro element, some of Bruno’s audience banter - combined with the Angel Baby Cam - were straight out of the dad joke handbook; but he pulled it off with braggadocios panache.
Faultless Vocals and Musical Highlights
It helped that his voice was faultless throughout, singing full pelt like every syllable might be his last, then hitting an even higher bar to compete with pal Anderson .Paak during a wonderful Silk Sonic interlude. Bruno's piano medley was just as mesmerising, before an all out assault on the core muscles for a monumental Locked Out Of Heaven and Uptown Funk.
A Performance to Remember
Sounding a tad hoarse by the end, it was a sign that Bruno had left everything out on the stage and seemed to feed off the crowd who had sung along to every line. He puts other stadium acts to shame, Mars is truly out of this world.
