The Apex Legends Aftershock event is set to begin today, March 31, 2026, at 6pm GMT, bringing a substantial mid-season patch to the battle royale. The update introduces significant changes to Wildcards and adjustments to existing Legends.
One of the headline additions is the 'Vortex Shield' Wildcard ability, which allows players to catch incoming bullets and launch them back with a well-timed button press. The shield is not infinite and drains with each use, but can be recharged by collecting EVO. Additionally, a new EMP Blast ability can stun enemies in close quarters.
Nine other new Wildcards are being added, along with the Hemlock Breach AR, a full-auto version of the Hemlock rifle, now part of the loot pool. The event also includes new cosmetic items available in the reward shop.
