Alton Towers Resort has announced a new immersive Minecraft experience called Meet the Mobs, set to launch during the six-week summer school holidays. The pop-up event will allow guests to encounter adorable baby Mobs from the popular video game universe across the theme park.
Event Details and Dates
Minecraft Meet the Mobs will run from July 18 to August 28, 2026, coinciding with school holidays in England and Wales. The experience is included with regular admission tickets, meaning no extra cost for visitors. Tickets can be booked online now for summer dates.
Meet the Baby Mobs
Guests will have the chance to see baby Mobs in real life, including yellow axolotls, pandas, pigs, goats, chicks, and wolf pups. These creatures will be positioned in six Minecraft-inspired scenes across the park. Visitors can collect stamps on a game card as they find each scene, and those who complete the trail will unlock an exclusive downloadable in-game reward available only to park attendees.
Character appearances will also include the Iron Golem, Chicken Jockey, and Creeper. According to Alton Towers, Mobs are living creatures in Minecraft that move, interact with the environment, and can be passive, neutral, or hostile.
Themed Treats and Merchandise
In addition to the trails, visitors can enjoy themed snack stands featuring Minecraft-inspired TNT popcorn and ice lollies. A range of exclusive Minecraft merchandise will also be available for purchase in the park.
