IO Interactive has released the first substantial DLC update for 007 First Light, adding long-requested features alongside a new bulldog mascot. The Extended Operations update is completely free and introduces a range of new content to the James Bond video game.
Aston Martin Valhalla and New Missions
The DLC fulfils a promise made in the base game, giving players access to the Aston Martin Valhalla. This car is now available through four brand new driving missions set in the Slovakian mountains, which will be accessible via the TacSim mode. An additional mission at the Pearl resort in Vietnam tasks players with retrieving classified documents.
Players are now allowed access to more weapons during TacSim missions than before, meaning the main game's entire arsenal is at their disposal. The update also adds two entirely new weapons and three new costumes for Bond.
New Game+ and Photo Mode
The other major additions are the long-requested New Game+ and photo modes. New Game+ arrives with a new 00 difficulty option for those seeking a challenge, featuring tougher combat, smarter enemies, and more restricted use of gadgets.
There are also a couple of minor gameplay tweaks. Improved weapon handling animation fidelity aims to offer more precision to Bond's movement. Additionally, Bond is now susceptible to being thrown off ledges by enemies, a feature seemingly added in response to how often players have dispatched enemies the same way.
Jack the Bulldog and Future Content
The most important addition, according to the article, is new bulldog mascot Jack, who can be interacted with and petted while at base. His inclusion was promised if First Light reached seven million wishlists across all platforms.
IO Interactive has planned more additions for First Light, though none have exact release dates. The developer has promised a secret something to celebrate James Bond Day on October 5, but there is no word on when to expect the new G2 glasses gadget or the new mission featuring Lenny Kravitz's character, crime lord Bawma.
