Emma Raducanu Spotted With Mystery Man Hours After Queen's Final Loss
Raducanu Cuddles With New Man After Queen's Defeat

Emma Raducanu, 23, was seen cuddling with a new mystery man just hours after her agonising defeat in the final at Queen's. The British No.1 suffered a straight-sets 6-0, 7-6 (6) defeat to Donna Vekic at the Andy Murray Arena following her impressive journey to the final in Eastbourne.

But the disappointment from her loss in the final and losing almost half of her prize money clearly didn't stop Raducanu from enjoying some down time with a potential love interest. The Briton was spotted at Battersea Park in southwest London with 32-year-old John Friend, who appeared to be a lot more than what his surname suggested.

Friend, reported to be a PR expert, was spotted walking his dog along with Raducanu before the pair settled down on a park bench. Images appeared to show the couple looking infatuated with each other as they stared into each others' eyes, as well as giggling and cuddling with each other in an intimate setting.

Raducanu's Private Love Life

Raducanu has typically kept her love life private since splitting with billionaire heir Carlo Agostinelli in 2024. But an onlooker quoted by The Sun claimed the tennis star was not attempting to hide her flirty behaviour, with Raducanu all smiles while talking to Friend despite losing the final just hours earlier.

“Emma and her man looked like they didn’t have a care in the world as they meandered through the crowds,” the anonymous observer said. “They looked besotted with one another. You wouldn’t have thought that, hours earlier, she’d suffered a defeat on the court. Any disappointment looked like it had evaporated as they cuddled. They certainly didn’t seem to be self-conscious of being together and affectionate, and there were plenty of other people around.”

Raducanu's Rise and Struggles

Raducanu shot to prominence in 2021 when she won the US Open as a qualifier at the age of 19. Since then, she revealed her parents have discouraged her from pursuing relationships due to the impact it can have on her tennis career. “My parents were very much against as it interfered with training,” she said.

Her form took a nosedive after the pressure to perform became too heavy to bear, along with painful wrist and ankle injuries that forced her to undergo surgery in 2024. But Raducanu displayed the kind of form that saw her rated as one of the top rising stars in women's tennis at Queen's, overcoming the likes of Anna Blinkova and 17th seed Sorana Cirstea on her route to the final.

She hadn't dropped a single set in her four matches prior to facing Vekic, but fell short at the final hurdle. Speaking after the match, Raducanu said: "Right now it obviously really stings, so I'm just going to try and let myself feel it today - but try and get over it pretty quick."

Positive Outlook Ahead of Wimbledon

Her performance at the tournament, coupled with her appearance in the final the ATP 250 event in Cluj, means she has climbed back inside the top 30 in the WTA rankings. That could be enough to earn her a seed at Wimbledon next month, with Raducanu stating her contentment with her performances of late.

"I haven't really played much this season, but to think I have made two finals so far, which I haven't done in years, it has to be, in a way, celebrated," said Raducanu. "It's a good achievement for me and I'm proud of it."
