Liverpool's festive season officially began on Friday, November 6, as the city centre's Christmas lights were switched on. St Johns shopping centre held a formal switching-on event, while Liverpool ONE also turned on its lights and unveiled a new Christmas tree.
Festive Entertainment at St Johns
Visitors to the city centre shopping precinct enjoyed live music from the Singing Our Socks Off Choir, along with appearances from Santa and the Grinch. The celebrations started at 4.30pm, drawing shoppers into the Christmas spirit.
Liverpool ONE Joins the Festivities
Across the city, Liverpool ONE also switched on its lights, with a new Christmas tree now in place. The lights mark the start of the holiday period across the city centre.
