Billy Ocean, Bastille, and David Gray are set to perform at Cardiff Castle on July 9, 10, and 11 respectively, continuing a summer concert series that has already featured Katy Perry, Bowling For Soup, and the Blackbird Festival. The series runs until mid-August, with acts including Sex Pistols, Hollywood Vampires, and David Byrne.
Event Dates and Support Acts
Billy Ocean takes the stage on Thursday, July 9, with special guest Marti Pellow, former Wet Wet Wet frontman. Bastille performs on Friday, July 10, supported by Arthur Hill and Carpetman. David Gray closes the trio on Saturday, July 11, with The Divine Comedy as his opening act.
Stage Times and Road Closures
Exact stage times for all three gigs will be released later this week. Castle Street will close half an hour before each event ends and reopen once crowds disperse. Full Cardiff city centre road closure information is available online.
Banned Items and Entry Rules
Prohibited items include chairs, portable furniture, inflatables, foldable furniture, alcohol, signs, luggage, computers, tablets, large bags over A4 size, selfie sticks, professional cameras, cans, drugs, helmets, air horns, lasers, animals except guide dogs, glass bottles, spray cans, flags, umbrellas, chairs, flares or fireworks, toxic substances, weapons (including replicas), perfumes, explosives, signalling devices, smoking devices, and very-lights. Medicines without a prescription or justification are also banned, as are skateboards and other personal vehicles, knives, syringes, and scalpels.
Food and drink from outside are not allowed, but sealed soft drinks or water under 500ml are permitted. Empty reusable water bottles of any size (metal, plastic, but not glass) can be brought in, with free water refill stations available on site. Diet-specific food and drink are allowed with a doctor's note for medical conditions. Assistant dogs are permitted; owners should notify Depot via the accessible requirements form from Ticketmaster or email access@depotcardiff.com. Small bags and rucksacks are allowed but subject to search.
