Zara Tindall's Half-Sister Stephanie Phillips: The Royal's Low-Key Equestrian Sibling

Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, has a half-sister named Stephanie Phillips who largely stays out of the public eye. Stephanie is the daughter of Captain Mark Phillips and his second wife, Sandy Pflueger, a Hawaiian equestrian. She grew up at Aston Farm on the Gatcombe Estate, close to her royal half-siblings, after Mark continued to live there following his divorce from Princess Anne in 1992.

Stephanie attended Dean Close School in Cheltenham and studied business management at the University of Worcester, where she worked as a barmaid to fund her studies. She is an accomplished equestrian, having competed at events such as Barbury International and Wellington International Horse Trials. Her love of horses mirrors that of her half-sister Zara, and she often attends competitions with the family.

Stephanie maintains a close bond with her royal relatives. She was a flower girl at Zara's wedding to Mike Tindall in 2011 and at Peter's wedding to Autumn Kelly in 2008. At her own wedding in July 2022, she reciprocated by asking her nieces to be flower girls. Princess Anne attended the ceremony. Stephanie has described Peter as 'the best big brother out there' and is frequently seen with the family at equestrian events.
