See the spectacular views across Newcastle from the top of The Hoppings Big Wheel. The hugely popular funfair launched on Friday and will stay in the city for 10 days.
Views from the Big Wheel
These are the spectacular views of Newcastle from the very top of The Hoppings Big Wheel. Thousands of thrill seekers are expected to experience the fair at Newcastle's Town Moor, and those attending will be able to enjoy a string of rides and attractions, including the new Elevate85. This is said to be the tallest travelling ride in the world and is now in place on the moor.
One of the favourite attractions is surely the Big Wheel, and for those who have a head for heights, it is perfect for getting beautiful views of the entire fair and the surrounding area. The fair will be open from afternoon until late evening throughout its run, except for its last day when it will finish a bit earlier.
Weather Forecast
For those going today and the rest of the weekend, the weather is looking promising. The Met Office is predicting sunny intervals and up to 23 degrees today. Afternoon temperatures should settle at around 22 degrees before dropping off a bit over the evening.
Earlier forecasts of 20-30% chance of rain have now dropped to just 5%, which is great news for fair-goers. During the afternoon to evening, this increases again to 20-30% from about 4pm and then rises to 60% from 6pm before dropping to around 50% from 8pm.
