Stacey Solomon’s Coat Hanger Trick for an 'Immaculate' Bed

Stacey Solomon has shared a simple coat hanger trick that can transform your bed into a five-star hotel standard. The 'Tap to Tidy' queen demonstrated the method to her 6 million Instagram followers, using an old wooden coat hanger to pull the duvet cover taut and tuck it firmly under the mattress.

Bed expert Ashley Hainsworth of Bed Kingdom explained why the technique works. 'The wooden coat hanger is sturdy enough to have some pressure put behind it and can fit into tighter spaces better than your hand can,' he said. 'It can also reach further, meaning your sheets are pushed further under the mattress, creating a sharp, uncrumpled appearance.' Ashley added that the method takes up to five minutes and is far more efficient than wrestling with fingers under the mattress.

Stacey, 36, posted a video titled 'Make the bed with me' in which she stood on the bed she shares with husband Joe Swash to fit the sheet and duvet. 'There's just something so satisfying about fresh sheets,' she said. 'It's sheet day on Sunday but did nothing yesterday but play in the garden so starting the week in fresh sheets instead.'

Ashley also offered additional tips for replicating a hotel bed at home, including layering textures with throws and scatter cushions, plumping pillows, and investing in a good-quality mattress or a thick mattress protector. He noted that adding a sheet between the duvet cover and fitted sheet can improve comfort.
