Savannah Guthrie offered some sartorial advice to her co-star Jenna Bush Hager during a live segment on the Today Show, calling out her fashion choice. Jenna wore a sleeveless white maxi dress with a flowing silhouette, paired with red leather sandals adorned with gold buckle hardware.
While Savannah approved of the shoes, she felt the styling with the white dress was not one of Jenna's best television looks. 'She's got these very fancy but clunky shoes,' said Savannah. Jenna defended the choice, replying, 'They're in.' Savannah added, 'You've seen them. They're very in. I like them. She's worn them a hundred times. I wanted to buy them. I couldn't find them. But I'm like, not with the dress.'
Jenna later revealed Savannah's reaction upon seeing her outfit: 'And I just had them on. And Savannah goes, 'Oh!'' Following the exchange, NBC shared a behind-the-scenes clip on social media showing the co-hosts discussing the outfit again. 'This is the classic example,' said Savannah, pointing at Jenna's dress. Jenna asked the crew, 'Do you not like that?' Savannah explained, 'That's what she was wearing. She was like, 'I'm headed to set.'' Jenna replied, 'It's because they're comfortable.'
Despite criticising the outfit, Savannah concluded that she thought the shoes themselves were super stylish. 'I love them. You know I want them. They're like designer Birks. They're fab,' she said. Savannah, who wore a red-and-white striped maxi skirt with a sleeveless navy blouse, then tried on the sandals. Jenna remarked, 'She's wearing my shoes, she styled them right.'
Jenna's fashion choices have been a talking point on the show in June. On June 4, she and co-host Dylan Dreyer wore matching powder blue sleeveless mini dresses with blonde bobs. Both garments had high necklines, sleeveless designs, midi lengths, and flowing silhouettes, with Dylan's featuring a tie bow detail at the neckline. Dylan paired her dress with nude pointed-toe heels, while Jenna chose brown suede pumps. Their co-hosts dubbed the moment 'beautiful,' and the show later posted a clip on Instagram with the caption: '@dylandreyernbc and @jennabhager are matching down to the bob!'
