The Molly Mae x Adidas collaboration has finally launched, featuring two trainer styles: matcha green Sambas and cream-and-latte Superstars. Both pairs have already sold out, but we managed to secure a set to review.
The former Love Island star's partnership with the sports giant has drawn mixed reactions, with some critics calling the designs “beige and boring.” However, the trainers reflect Molly Mae’s signature tonal, minimalist aesthetic, with double lace detailing for added impact. “I feel like you’re either an iced latte girl or you’re a matcha girl,” she said on her Prime reality show.
The matcha green Sambas offer a fresh take on the classic silhouette, with off-white stripes, a gum sole, and double laces in off-white and soft pink. The green shade is more of a soft sage, and the trainers come with matching sage laces for a minimalist look. They are sturdy and comfortable, but sizing up is recommended if you are between sizes.
The Superstars feature a cream-white upper with brown stripes and heel detailing, plus latte-inspired double laces. The chunkier silhouette provides a comfortable, supportive fit, though they also run small. As slimline trainers have dominated recently, Molly Mae may be ahead of the curve with this style.
Both pairs are available at select Adidas stores and online retailers, but stocks are limited. The Sambas are our favourite, offering a simple way to add colour to spring and summer outfits, though they feel a little uninspired. The Superstars, meanwhile, add intrigue to the classic white trainer.
