Maybelline has launched a tubing version of its best-selling Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, promising longer, lifted lashes with enhanced staying power and effortless removal. The new 'Sky Tubes' formula, priced at £8.80 on Amazon, wraps each lash in lightweight, flexible tubes that resist smudging, flaking and transfer.
Unlike traditional mascaras, tubing formulas coat lashes with polymer tubes that slide off with warm water, eliminating the need for oily cleansers or vigorous rubbing. This makes removal particularly gentle on the delicate eye area and suitable for sensitive skin.
Five IndyBest testers trialled the mascara across various lash types. One tester with droopy lashes reported added length at the tips, while another appreciated the inclusion of shea butter and castor oil for lash health. However, some noted a paste-like consistency that could lead to clumping if applied too quickly.
Removal proved remarkably simple: a warm water compress and a few swipes of a flannel removed the tubes completely. Testers also praised the long, bristled brush for capturing every lash and the formula's 24-hour wear without irritation.
While the mascara excelled at lengthening and defining, it offered less curl for thick lashes compared to some high-end alternatives. Overall, testers agreed it delivers impressive volume and smudge-proof performance with the convenience of easy removal.
