Mary Fowler Makes Catwalk Debut at Paris Fashion Week for L'Oréal

Matildas and Manchester City star Mary Fowler has made her catwalk debut for L'Oréal during Paris fashion week, an event she described as 'a little outside of my comfort zone'. The 22-year-old footballer, who signed with the cosmetics company last year, walked the runway at the Hotel de Ville alongside L'Oréal ambassadors including Kendall Jenner, Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson.

Fowler is currently recuperating after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament during an FA Cup match against Manchester United in April. The injury was predicted to sideline her for the rest of the year, but she told Guardian Australia before the show that her recovery is going well. 'So far everything has been on track, but I've been really patient with myself because I want to make sure I'm doing what's right for my body,' she said.

Australian football is closely watching her recovery ahead of next year's Asian Cup, which opens in March in Perth. Fowler said being ready for the tournament is a 'big motivator', but added: 'I'll be back whenever my body is ready.' Her rehab sessions currently include gym work, jumping and landing exercises, and running or bike work.

Fowler, who requested heels for her fashion ensemble because she loves wearing them, described her usual style as 'quite basic some days', favouring baggy jeans, knitted sweaters and loafers. She said she has become passionate about beauty, noting: 'I think a lot of beauty standards these days make young girls feel like they're never enough.'

L'Oréal's celebrity-heavy runway event, now in its eighth year, took place during the spring/summer 2026 womenswear showings but is not on Paris fashion week's official calendar.
