Mary Fowler Makes Catwalk Debut at Paris Fashion Week for L'Oréal

Matildas and Manchester City star Mary Fowler made her runway debut for L'Oréal during Paris Fashion Week, stepping out at the Hotel de Ville in a show celebrating women's empowerment and sisterhood. The 22-year-old footballer, who signed with the cosmetics company last year, admitted to feeling nervous before the event, describing it as 'a little outside of my comfort zone'.

Fowler is currently recovering from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) sustained during an FA Cup match against Manchester United in April. Despite the setback, she confirmed her recovery is on track, with rehab sessions involving gym work, jumping and landing exercises, and running or cycling. The Asian Cup, set to open in Perth in March next year, is a 'big motivator', but she stressed she will return 'whenever my body is ready'.

The L'Oréal show, now in its eighth year, featured celebrity ambassadors including Kendall Jenner, Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren, and Gillian Anderson. Though held during the spring/summer 2026 womenswear showings, the event was not on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar. Fowler requested heels for her ensemble, noting her love for wearing them, but described her everyday style as 'quite basic', favouring baggy jeans, knitted sweaters, and loafers.

Reflecting on her growing passion for beauty, Fowler said: 'I've seen how closely linked feeling good in your own skin is to someone's level of self-worth.' She criticised 'beauty standards these days' that 'make young girls feel like they're never enough'.
