Princess Kate Recycles Alessandra Rich Dress for St David's Day

The Prince and Princess of Wales marked St David's Day by sharing a video on Instagram, showcasing their Welsh-speaking abilities. The short film was shot at Frogmore House on the Windsor Home Park estate, with Kate wearing a festive red houndstooth dress by Alessandra Rich. The midi dress features a V-shaped neckline, dramatic Chelsea collar, long sleeves, a gentle drop waist, and a pleated skirt.

The dress is a favourite from her style archives, having made its debut in 2021 during a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Kate has nine dresses from the Italian label, often restyling them for different occasions. The wide Peter-Pan collar is a signature feature of Alessandra Rich designs that the princess frequently embraces.

In 2025, Kate debuted a grey plaid Alessandra Rich dress with puff sleeves and statement buttons, worth around £2,000. She also wore a black version with a contrasting white collar at the Festival of Remembrance that year. In 2022, she wore an azure blue silk crepe de chine dress to Wimbledon, previously worn at the Big Jubilee Lunch, and a white dress with black dots for Royal Ascot, later reworn at the Garter service.
