Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley reunited for an impromptu Absolutely Fabulous reunion at London Fashion Week, nine years after the show ended. The pair attended the Burberry show at Kensington Gardens, sitting front row in chic, understated ensembles.
Saunders, 67, wore a full leather trench coat and a Burberry plaid scarf, while Lumley, 79, opted for a chocolate-coloured cropped trench coat and olive-green trousers. The actresses played Edina 'Eddie' Monsoon and Patsy Stone in the award-winning BBC sitcom, which first aired in 1992.
The Burberry show took place at Perks Field, part of the Prince and Princess of Wales's private garden at Kensington Palace. Other attendees included Elton John, Naomi Campbell and Twiggy.
It has been nine years since Eddie and Patsy were last on screen. Creator Jennifer Saunders has insisted she will not revive the characters following the 2016 film. However, a documentary titled Absolutely Fabulous: Inside Out aired on Gold last year, reuniting Saunders and Lumley with Julia Sawalha and Jane Horrocks for the first time since the film.
Saunders said of the documentary: 'I loved making Ab Fab but I can't remember a great deal, so much of this retrospective is a revelation to me.' Lumley added: 'It was a fabulous wander down memory lane by actresses who only have the faintest grip on reality.'
