A host of celebrities, including Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss, gathered at Southwark Cathedral on a grey day to honour the late fashion icon Dame Vivienne Westwood, who died aged 81 in December 2022. The memorial service, held on an unspecified date, celebrated the life of the designer known for pioneering punk fashion.

Victoria Beckham, 48, arrived in a tight black dress and dark glasses, accompanied by designer Marc Jacobs. Supermodel Kate Moss, 49, wore a black beret, long dress and velvet coat, stumbling slightly in high heels as she entered with her daughter Lila, 20, who carried a Vivienne Westwood bag.

Actress Helena Bonham Carter, 56, who delivered the eulogy, wore a corseted tartan dress and wooden 'Rocking Horse' shoes, both signature Westwood styles. Other attendees included musicians Bob Geldof, Simon Le Bon, Paloma Faith, Jarvis Cocker and Stormzy, the latter sporting a Westwood badge on his suit.

Mourners paid homage to Westwood's aesthetic with tartan, chains, patchwork and bright hair. Presenter Jonathan Ross wore a purple jumper with a skull motif, while Paloma Faith opted for a bold patterned dress with red fluffy heels. Christina Hendricks wore a tartan coat, and Jaime Winstone chose a punk-inspired outfit.

Westwood had already been laid to rest in a private funeral in Tintwhistle, Derbyshire, where the church was decorated with 45 metres of tartan cloth, as per her final request. The London memorial allowed friends unable to attend the intimate service to celebrate her life and legacy.
