Andy Lee has shared images of the extensive $5million renovation work underway at his Melbourne mansion, including a luxury pool for his dog. The veteran presenter, 43, purchased the rundown property with his fiancee Rebecca Harding for $3.5million in 2021.
Taking to Instagram, Lee posted a gallery of photos showcasing the massive transformation of the Hawthorn property. The worksite has been completely excavated, with towering mounds of dirt, scattered debris and heavy machinery dominating the landscape. One striking photo captured Lee grinning alongside a workman, both standing on the edge of a gaping pit surrounded by rubble and steel reinforcements.
Adding a playful twist to his visit, Lee tossed a rock into a murky pool of water at the bottom of a massive in-progress tunnel. The tunnel will connect the original Italianate mansion, built around 1876, to a second building. Other highlights planned for the 1,950 square metre holding include a home theatre, a gym, a swimming pool and a 'mega bedroom'.
Lee captioned the gallery: 'Tunnel buddies. Also, never too old to toss a rock off a cliff into water. The most exhilarating thing one can do.' The comedian has been hard at work on the derelict mansion in a The Block-style rebuild, having won council approval for the development application in June last year.
