Vanessa Feltz was left shocked to discover that production of a major upcoming film was taking place right by her house. The broadcast legend, 64, was expecting family for Sunday dinner and joked that she was about to start a protest until she realised just what was going on.
Beatles Biopic Filming Blocks Road
The biopic, directed by Sam Mendes and set for release in four parts, will chart the rise of John Lennon (Harris Dickinson), Paul McCartney (Paul Mescal), George Harrison (Joseph Quinn) and Ringo Starr (Barry Keoghan) from their Liverpool beginnings to becoming the world's most successful band in history, with each film focusing on a different member.
Speaking in a new video posted to Instagram, Vanessa was initially annoyed but then thrilled to realise the production crew were recreating the famous Abbey Road album cover right by her house in London.
Vanessa's Reaction
She said: "So Saskia and the children have come for lunch but they couldn't get into the road at all, we weren't really sure why. We thought, 'What? More roadworks?!' And I was just about to start objecting... No, not really. It turns out they're making the Beatles movie in Abbey Road, and can you seen the cars? We've just passed John Lennon's iconic Rolls-Royce. They're recreating the crossing of Abbey Road moment so therefore it's a bit of a thing to get both into and out of my road. But anyway, how exciting!"
The former Strictly Come Dancing star reiterated her excitement in the caption of her post, writing: "Can’t get into or out of my road. It’s not roadworks. They are shooting @thebeatles the movie!"
Release and Cast Insights
All four films are currently set for simultaneous release in April 2028. Actor Paul Mescal previously revealed that he had begun taking music lessons to play Paul McCartney.
He told GQ Magazine: "I’ve learned so much. It’s really inspired a love. I’ve always loved music, but getting to play one of the great songwriters and great frontmen has really lit a fire in terms of personally writing music and engaging and hearing music in a different way." He went on to reveal he has met McCartney twice, saying: "He’s the most brilliant man. I feel emotionally attached to him. He received me with great kindness and warmth."
Earlier this year, McCartney released a video of Mescal interviewing him about his new album, The Boys Of Dungeon Lane. Speaking about his relationship with the Beatles and the nostalgic lyrics on the new album, McCartney said: "Looking back on your life, I ran into this guy called John Lennon, he was kinda fighting life. He had a lot of trouble, his dad had left home, his mum had got run over, he had a lot of trouble there. So he was putting up a shield and he was very witty, and when it came to songwriting that relationship stayed there. On this record, I might even refer to him in my mind, you know, as if we're still writing together. I'll write something and go, 'What's that? Is that any good?'" Mescal asked: "And you're talking to him?" And McCartney replied: "Kind of, you know, sometimes I get away with it. And sometimes you say, 'No, it's s***!’ You know, his spirit is still in me, and I'm very glad of that. And George [Harrison] too."
