Sydney Sweeney has opened up about her starring role in Paul Feig's film adaptation of Freida McFadden's bestselling novel 'The Housemaid'. Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere on Monday, the actress revealed she devoured the book in one sitting, calling it 'juicy' and 'delicious'.
'I could not put the book down,' Sweeney said. 'I remember I opened it, and you know when you're like, I'm going to open this, read a couple of chapters and then go do something else, I did not move from my seat the moment I opened it until I finished.'
The erotic thriller follows a woman with a dark past who becomes the live-in maid for a wealthy couple, played by Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar. Sweeney expressed hope for a sequel, saying, 'We want to be able to give the people what they want. This is such an amazing community of book lovers, and we would love to do another film.'
Director Paul Feig praised Sweeney's professionalism, calling her 'one of my heroes'. Seyfried noted their instant connection on set, discovering they share the same shoe size and height, and bonding over their love for the book.
