The Sterling Point finale on Prime Video delivered shocking family revelations, leaving viewers stunned by the dramatic twists. The eight-episode series concluded with Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin) discovering that her adopted father Steven (Jay Duplass) was actually the biological father of her secret sister Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle).
The Family Secret Unveiled
Steven and his late wife had adopted twins Annie and Connor (Keen Ruffalo) as infants, but later had their own biological daughter Ramona, who remained at Sterling Point when the family moved to New York. Steven had wanted to keep the siblings separate to avoid future conflict, but it ultimately backfired.
Meanwhile, Joe (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) had believed he was Ramona's father following an affair with her mother, but the truth shattered this assumption. Annie struggled to cope with learning Steven had been more of a father to Ramona than her, creating painful family tensions.
Emotional Fallout and Resolution
The emotional fallout also saw Oona (Bo Bragason) break up with Ramona, fearing she would abandon Sterling Point for New York to explore a life with her newfound father. Ramona initially considered selling the inherited island, feeling there was nothing left for her there. Annie convinced her sister not to sell after learning more about their mother's tragic death from Joe, who explained she'd had an undetected heart condition which killed her whilst she was giving birth to Ramona.
The sisters ultimately found a heartwarming solution - Ramona moved to New York to build a relationship with Steven, while Annie stayed at Sterling Point where "she felt the most free." Meanwhile, behind closed doors, Connor also secretly reached out to their birth parents, who finally agreed to meet him.
